2010 Dust Elephant

Dust Elephant was born during Moa’s traveling across China and the US. Her thoughts on ‘elephants’ and ‘dust’ became the seed of the work.

The dream of freedom is being approached through the dichotomy between material and life, dust and elephants, freedom and oppression, and the ideal and reality.

2009 dust elephant

Dust Particles and elephants coexist in this world full of material and life, and the most elevated ideal of humans is the dust elephant. Discover the disparity between suppressive reality and the free ideal.

2007 space of zero

Inspired by installation artist Tae-gon Kim’s “space of zero”, it is created based on the Wassily Kandinsky’s “Punkt und linie zu flache ”. On the grid-patterned space where vertical and horizontal lines are crossed, the realm of the coordinate ‘0(zero)’lies in between ‘infinite’ and ‘nothing(zero)’. Human nature involved in this system is that one’s position can be shifted by the flow of the power. The structured force between human and power circulates consecutively, which results in a transition of power.

2007 MIDDLE PLACE

An adaptation of Hans Peter Kun’s installation “ Middle Place”, it reflects human desire and selfishness.

Presented at the wide green lawn of SEOUL PLAZA which located at the heart of Seoul metropolitan city, the venue itself contrasts with the high-rise buildings neighboring it that mirrors urban contemporary life.

Mumbling of crowds from four speakers, voice of dancers and beautiful music unfold crowds psychologically.

2007 2nd Anxiety_video dance

A revised version from its original, the 「2nd Anxiety <Video Dance>」presents maximized visual images by using video device.

The inner voices of human anxiety and corresponding movements as its fluctuation are projected by four female dancers, buttonholes, imagery of the colors and reverberation off the spaces which also reflects human speculation.

2006 Anxiety

Deeply inspired by the book “status anxiety”, this work presents media combined three-dimensional movement–ascending, top, descending- by time and space.

Anxiety expressed and shown by each corresponding movements plays essential role in representing highly visual impressions.
